Dear God,

I know you have everything planned out, but I was sorta wondering if we could speed things up down here? See, some of us are getting pretty antsy waiting for Spring. We sure do appreciate the short glimpses-you know, the 65 degree days, sun shinning brilliantly in the sky-but we'd really like to have the "real deal". No rush, but it would be a lovely birthday present.

Sincerely yours,

Valentine's Day

A couple of days before Valentine Friday, we lucked up and had a snow day off! We took the opportunity to bake some cookies for the boy's teachers. I thought they turned out pretty cute considering I'm not a baker and the quality of help I had :)

Valentine's Friday came and it was filled with love (from my students) and lots and lots of laughing and dancing. I had a "dance" in my room (not the kind with the lights turned off and slow music playing...no way! Imagine Soulja Boy, Cupid Shuffle, Single Ladies!). I would post pictures, but I think that's kind of a gray area. It was lots of fun, and I did learn the Cupid Shuffle...yes I know I am totally behind the times. I was overwhelmed by all the Valentines and candy my kiddos had for me...they are so sweet!

I wish I had wonderful Valentine plans to report for me and my hubby, but alas I don't think it would be too romantic to bring our three lovely boys along to anything! Hope you and your sweetheart have a lovely day!

Snowy, Cold Saturday

My husband has been gone for 3 and 1/2 days! My parents have helped out tremendously and that is the only reason I have any sanity left! So this morning, after my kiddos were up while it was still dark, like 5:00 dark, and after my dad left, stating he had had all the fun he could stand!, we made some crayons.

My crayons at school were looking a little rough, but I couldn't bring myself to throw them away. So, we peeled them...

broke them in half,

and put them in a muffin tin. After about 15 min. in an oven that had been preheated to 350 and then turned off we had some crayon soup. (I wish I would have gotten a picture, but I only have so much to work with!) We then put them in the freezer for about a couple hours while we ran some errands. This is what we have now:
The boys had fun, and I liked the way they came out. Good use of broken crayons!
**Oh, update on the scale. Guess it got my note, because this morning it finally got on board with me. Three numbers down...guess it can stay now :)

Dear Scale,

I think we have a problem...you seem to be stuck on three certain numbers. We've always had a good relationship, and up until now you've been very truthful (and on my side). Please try to work on this or else I'm afraid I'll have to replace you.

Sincerely yours,
