Happy Belated Anniversary to Us!

Picture a day with me, if you will...It's your favorite time of the year. The leaves are turning; the trees look as if they are on fire with reds, yellows, and browns. You are carefree and able to go where you want to go, stop when you want to stop, and browse until your heart's content. The company you are keeping is making you laugh till your sides hurt, but also giving you that quiet comfortable silence that is needed, but never given.

That was my day! Oh, how wonderful it was to visit Nashville, IN with my hubby and parents. This trip has become a tradition for us. For the past 4 years we have made the 4 hour trip with my parents. Sometimes we splurge and make many purchases, other years (like this one) we walk away with almost nothing but a camera bursting with pictures and warm memories to fill our hearts.

The Witches of Dishman

If I didn't work with these two ladies, I know it wouldn't be half as much fun! I'm sure our students think we deserve these witch hats sometimes...hopefully just sometimes though.

Falling off the wagon...

Well, someone had the bright idea to pay a visit to Jackson's Orchard this weekend...more specifically, Saturday...the day that is was windy and bitterly cold...ok maybe not bitterly cold. My husband was not a fan of the idea, but rolled along with it as he does with all the wild hair ideas I get. We were there all of about 10 minutes when the kids (and I) decided that it was too cold. We made sure we didn't leave without a carmel apple (or four)

and a picture with some of the locals.

I'm pretty sure I fell off the carb wagon...but it was worth it!

Honesty is the best policy!

Today is the last day of our fall break, and I am not upset about it. Let's face it...some of us are born to be stay-at-home moms...others aren't. I'm 88% sure I fall into the last category. Don't get me wrong...I love those three little boys with all my heart and love spending time with them, BUT goodness me I can't handle the staying home with them ALL DAY. Especially when there is nothing to do. And today was one of those days where there was nothing to do. So we did a lot of nothing...and believe me I am ready for tomorrow.
**Pretend you don't notice the big wet spot on the carpet...that would be Diet Coke that my youngest smuggled from my room at school**

Fabulously Fall

With a picture like that, who need words?
But here they come...today marked the end of Fall Break for Kevin & Alex (who returned to preschool), but not for me, Dylan, & Landen! It started off a bit gloomy, but by the time we ventured out to pick up Alex the sun was peeking through the clouds. What better way to spend the day than out at my grandparent-in-laws. They are blessed to have this:

They have a wonderful house along with fabulous land...a ginourmous backyard complete with woods. Now I spent a good amount of my childhood on a farm complete with acres upon acres of woods, so this is heaven to me!!! My boys think it's pretty neat as well. We spent the better part of the afternoon just playing in the woods!

We even got some of this...

Granny Marie's homemade vegetable soup. Yep, it was a fabulous fall day.

All good things...

All good things must come to an end...including the good vacation weather! We all enjoyed the sunny 90-ish weather the beach provided us, only to be smacked in the face with the windy 60-ish weather BG so kindly offered us. It was an adjustment on Saturday...one that we had to prepare for! That meant sending the hubby up the attic stairs to rifle through containers to find the little boys winter clothes (hand me downs from big brother...shhh, don't tell them that!). For some reason, this trek transforms my husband from the loving, sweet guy that he is into a monster!!! But anyway, here's what the closets look like now...

Notice any big differences in the two???? My oldest has no fall clothes yet...while my two little ones are off to a nice start! Poor guy...he watched me take all the little boys summer stuff out and pack it away, so what did he do??? Pulled all of his summer stuff down as well and pulled me in his room proud as punch to show me what he did. He wanted to know where his box of clothes were and couldn't understand why we had to wait to get him some...so for now, he'll just have to throw a jacket on over the short sleeve shirts!
In other news...
my mom, my mother-in-law, and myself went to a wedding shower this afternoon. My brother is getting married in January, and his fiance's family hosted a wedding shower in Central City today. I always enjoy the time that we spend with her...she's a great addition to the family :)

Fall Breakin' It

It's Fall Break 'yall! And to celebrate, we headed down to Gulf Shores with the Creek family. It got off to a bumpy start, with our oldest getting the flu the day before we left :( We were a bit indecisive as if we were even going, but at the last minute decided to suck it up and truck on!!! I'm glad we did, because everyone is well and having a blast! Check out the pictures if you don't believe me...

Just Learning

We'll we have decided to try out this blogging world. Love reading other people's blogs and thought we'd try it ourselves.
